Hi Merni:

I think almost everything I could say has already been expressed above. What makes this scene especially attractive to me is the study in contrasts -- the fire and ice of your title -- represented by the warm tones in the lower portion and the cool tones in the top. But there is also that seductive band of reflective water across the middle which, to borrow some literary jargon, acts as a foil (pun intended) to the crenelated ice crystals. --jim
