christiankiely 0 Posted February 1, 2005 Comments appreciated... similar to previous post, but less ND grad. Link to comment
marcadamus 1 Posted February 1, 2005 A real beauty here. The exposure and lighting control are close to perfection. Might have slid that split ND up the holder just a fraction as to not infringe on the grasses, but that is quite picky. It's a great shot! I love the colors and composition. 6/6 Link to comment

thomas_breazeale1 0 Posted February 1, 2005 I like the crisp delineation between fore, mid and background and the alpenglow is wonderful. Two things..I think the frame is a little overpowering and have you considered cropping a little from the bottom to tighten things up a bit? Link to comment
mark lucas 0 Posted February 1, 2005 Unfortunately, the foreground doesn't do justice to the magnificently lit mountain. Link to comment
christiankiely 0 Posted February 1, 2005 This is really the only vantage point that was available. Further South there are trees about 50' tall that completely obstruct the view and further North there are power lines in the way. This shot wasn't even the one that I wanted... I really wanted a shot of show covered Mt. Ruapehu, but the friggin' power lines were in direct line of sight. Link to comment
harnstrom1 0 Posted February 1, 2005 Lovely and original. The technique is already commented on by others. Regards. Link to comment
jay_patel 0 Posted February 2, 2005 Nothing, but perfection here!! Great colors and superb foreground details. Did you use a flash to light up the foreground? Link to comment
christiankiely 0 Posted February 4, 2005 Yes, I believe -1.7ev fill... however, this was not shot w/ a wide angle or close to the camera. It was shot w/ a standard lens, focal length about 50mm or so (+ digial multiplier). So, I am a reasonable distance from the foreground, perhaps 50 feet or so. I can't recall all of the flash factors, focal lengths and ISO considerations about how much of an effect it really had. Link to comment
