keithmca 1 Posted February 1, 2005 i dont see any asthetic appeal. Too clinical, and not shocking enough to stand alone. Link to comment
mikeseb 0 Posted February 1, 2005 two questions spring to mind: 1) exactly what is the object shoved up this guy's ass, and 2) why do I care to see it? I must be missing something. Where is the artistic merit? mike sebastian Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted February 1, 2005 I hope that the other end is not as "flat" as the one that is outside... Link to comment
josphy 0 Posted February 1, 2005 Yeah, what *is* that? This is like Mapplethorpe...except bad. Link to comment
andrew_bridges 0 Posted February 1, 2005 The choice of colour is appropriately evocative. But the angle and the linear arrangement make this much harder to look at than the subject deserves. It comes across to me as a joke that has been cut off before the punchline was delivered. Link to comment
darklights 0 Posted February 1, 2005 you do realize that's an exit and not an entryway, right? Link to comment
jim_trombley 0 Posted February 1, 2005 Another example of photos not deserving of being rated receiving far more attention than other truly outstanding works posted here on PN. Link to comment
bill_boyd 0 Posted February 1, 2005 Hey, it's different than the standard studio-lit, shaved naked woman that generally populates this category! That fact alone makes it worth a viewing. If you look at this shot in the context of the other work in this portfolio, it doesn't seem out of place. But, having said that, I like other work in this portfolio better than this shot--for example, the mouth with sticks. Link to comment
kenneth_car 1 Posted February 1, 2005 This has a wonderfully edgy, in-your-face quality to it. Link to comment
andrew_bridges 0 Posted February 1, 2005 Bill, I'm with you on that. There is some fine work in the portfolio. Mr. Wichita composes some intriguingly grotesque images in ways that arrest the attention. But in this photo, the lighting and the angle of the inserted object against the very straight legs make me look away. It does suggest pain more effectively than a pornographic variation on the same subject, but it's missing that ingredient (present in the other photos in the portfolio) that compels us to look closer, and linger longer. studio_eyeworks 0 Posted February 1, 2005 Title should be "Creativity Emerging" - highly apropos of this particular image. Link to comment
tammy_tracy 0 Posted February 1, 2005 There's a web site called, "Rotten.Com" that has a feature called, "Rate My Poo." See what they think of your work there. Link to comment
jgalyon 0 Posted March 19, 2007 They called Andy Warhols art shit too.....only to find out later on, that a sizeable percentage of it was indeed ...shit. Link to comment
