Just playing around having a bit of fun these days, and wonder how other people react on the different angles, colors etc. :)

Beautiful and soft, very delicat colours for a very delicat subject.

with a soft voice could I tell you for this time you should have clean the area were Emilie right eye and upper part of the nose meet, same for the forehead, your image is so subtle it can't tolerate the tiniest dust.

7/7 because all what I mention as nothing to do with the quality of the picture itself.

Bravo to Emilie and Nina.

Thanks again to all of you!

Jean-Paul: The "dust" you're talking about are her freckles :) I've toned them down but I really want to keep them. It wouldn't be Emilie without them...

Well done indeed. i keep thinking about the catchlights, would it look better with the lower ones toned down or gone. what do you think? Regards,

I'm really overwhelmed by the positive feedback on this picture. This has been great fun :) I'm actually sitting here writing a tutorial for my site on how I achieved this effect for those who might be interested reading about that. I'll post the link here as soon as I'm done.

About the catch lights... hmmm... I guess others might have to answer that question. It doesn't bother me, but for all I know others have other views on that :)

And I suddenly realized I forgot to answer a question earlier about the light source; Yes - it's light from a window on the right side + a white reflecter to lighten up the shadows.

Exclent pic. Her eyes catch mine immediately and remain there. Those soft colors, perfect exposition and good definition are the most important technical facts.

I will read that tutorial gratefully.

Greetings.

I think what you managed the most here are these beautiful and soft pastel colors, keeping yet the portrait really clean and sharp. You deserve all these nice critiques and ratings... Bravo!

You really have to stop now or I won't be able to get any sleep tonight :D I'll just be laying in bed with a silly grin on my face... hehehe

Seriously - I never thought so many would like it this much.

Ok - the new tutorial is here: http://www.eyesondesign.net/pshop/soft_colors/picturemanip_intro.htm

I'm too tired to proof read it now - so if you find spelling errors or other faults please let me know. I haven't published it on my site yet, so this is kind of a preview :)

Take care everybody!

This is my third re-visit. Finally I decide to leave a comment and a 7/7 rating. I hate to login, with that lengthy given password.

Perfect. The angle of her head to her body works well with the thinness of her face, and I'll disagree with the others about the collar. I like it. It adds some weight to the bottom of the photo, although I can understand that some may prefer a continuation of the delicacy produced by the pose and toning. And the freckles are pretty cute, too.
