You've captured great color here as well as detail. I love the very shallow depth of field and how you just get vague senses of color in the background that echo off the hopper.

WOW! This is the best "bug" photograph I have seen here. Wonderful colors. I kinda wish the whole thing was just a bit closer to the bottom of the frame so that the anntenna wasn't touching the top. Other than that, Great! 6/7

Consider making the frame bigger at the top and cloning in some additional background to make the locust more central to the frame - as it is currently, it is too high and there isn't enough breathing space between the edge and the antenna. Also, consider cropping to remove dead space at the left hand side.

Most beautiful locust you have captured , very well done ; would have loved to know some technical details , the lens you used , etc. etc. ..

People are actually rating the subject and not the photographer.

With due regards to high ratings, I see nothing special in this photo except the striking coloration of the subject, which isn't due to the photographer's skills.

As a photograph, it has some focusing plane problems (if you look at the middle leg in the foreground), the composition could be vastly better and the sharpness is there but nothing earth-shattering.

Hello Tomislav!

I think your "locust" is quite marvelous. For me, this photo celebrates the larger Creation. Your obvious technical skills and execution paired with the chance factor of happening upon this small creature are all, for me, subordinated to the beauty of the Creation. Your photo reminds me it's good to be alive!

What color! Not to mention the water droplets. And has our little friend just had himself a nice meal of fresh leaf, I wonder?

MANY THANKS!!
