I like this image. great range of tones from deep black to near white.

the light pole in the background may be a distraction; one approach would have been to increase aperture and let it go out of focus a bit. But this is an aesthetic choice of course.

Nicely done.

Appreciate your feedback on my portfolio as well.

Everybody, thank you for taking the time to leave a few words of comment.

Mike, I agree with you that the light post seems to "intrude" a bit amongst the trees in the fog. As per your suggestion of decreasing the DOF, I cannot remember correctly but I am quite sure I was already wide open (or almost there), since I was shooting hand-held and the 50 ASA film was at its limits in such a condition. This has also been the first time for me to photograph the fog, so I rushed out to the park nearby without taking the tripod fearing that the mist would have disapperead soon. And it did happen!

fog will vanish quickly, you were right to leave you tripod. Only dense fog very early in the morning gives you time to set up tripods.

I'm not bothered by the pole so much. Cloning could remove it, or printing the fog lighter would reduce it, but I actually didn't see it until reading the comments. It's obviously a park, so a lamppost would not be out of the ordinary. The figure of the man on the left prompts the most curiousity from me. Is he coming to take my seat on the bench? Is he friend, or foe? His presence adds mystery, and turns the photo from one of quiet reflection to one of active questioning.
