dd_toth 0 Posted April 9, 2008 This is a fantastic capture, but there is one thing that affects it's impact. The viewers eye falls off the page too quickly. The reason is that the main focal point, right now, is the nose but it's too soft so your eye wants to move towards the detail which is in the eye and because the gorillas eye is so close to the edge, the viewers eye leaves the page almost immediately. There is a good rule to follow with composition. Anything within an inch of the edge of the picture, is going to be lost. So any main focal points cannot be in that one inch border. If you move the gorillas entire face down, just over 1/2 an inch, the viewers eye will continue to view the image longer. As well 1/2 an inch at the bottom is pretty much dead space anyways so it will help by taking that out as well. Link to comment
