matt_borengasser 0 Posted December 16, 2006 Congradulations on all the positive fanfare, but I seem to be missing the magic... I am drawn to the window behind rather than the kids. I also can't help wondering what they are looking at. Distracts me. I've seen so many amazing photographs that draw you into the child and the child's world and that doesn't happen here. I viewed the photographer's gallery and find the other children photos also very common. I work with children and if this photo was in color, it would not be much different from the snapshots that we have pinned up in the office at work. I'm the first and probably the last to leave a negative comment with this photograph. Sort of feel like a party pooper. Link to comment
alexander mandl 0 Posted December 16, 2006 Hi, I have to agree with mat. The tilt in the bottmomline is also distracting. The tones are quite OK. Regards Alex Link to comment
davidroossien 0 Posted December 16, 2006 I like the photo! One thing that looks strange is the lighting on the girl on the right. It seems different than the rest of the bunch--to the point that she looks cut and pasted into the photo. Link to comment
chet_grabowski1 0 Posted December 17, 2006 Here is a truly wonderful photograph done in the style of an old master. I like this kind of old school look, not some out of focus junk someone calls art. The kicker is look at what kind of camera and lens that was used. No $5000 film or digital Leica here. Makes me wonder why I keep buying equipment. Link to comment
