kslonaker 0 Posted January 23, 2005 I've always been a sucker for stark branches, so this works for me. I like the mist to soften the background, too. Link to comment
afterthoughts 0 Posted January 24, 2005 I agree with Kim. The image evokes emotion. Very enjoyable. Link to comment
bradkim 8 Posted June 30, 2005 Igor, Joe, Cherlyn, Donna, Kim, Howard, Pnina, Yuri.... I've listed your names once again here in thanks for your support to this image. This is a tree that experienced lots of pain...and severe storms.... but it is standing strong here.... in peace.... in grace. Some people I respect very much, and I feel dear to, chose this image to have it framed and hung on their walls. I am grateful to them. Link to comment
donnaalbers 0 Posted February 23, 2006 I came again to view this image. I'm not sure what draws me to it. . . I love the tonal contrasts. . I did some B&W photography centuries ago and this reminds me how much I enjoyed working in the dark room. . I am happy to see that you achieved this digitally. Link to comment
bradkim 8 Posted March 15, 2006 Thank you for coming back, Donna. I think this image is a product of mother nature... drizzling foggy morning under overcast sky. Some months ago, I had an opportunity to drive by this location again. I pulled over my car, walked to the same spot where I had photographed this tree.... but I couldn't find any image. Different weather and light in different season were producing quite fifferent scene which was not interesting at all with so many distractions. Link to comment

zigzag 0 Posted July 4, 2007 Love the 'lean over' composition of the tree branches in the mist. B&W treats this well. Link to comment
Pierre Dumas 306 Posted July 9, 2007 This one has probably passed to another! If it is for me to decide, my next life will be as a tree! They don't care about anything, just observe, think, enjoy and from time to time pass to another, young one! Did you know that the olive tree under which Jesus was betrayed might be still alive?! Yes, they live long and carelessly! The mood on this picture is suitable to your feelings, and when I look at it I feel pain (more sadness and emptiness) for the human race and ME first of all, ha! dragonfly606 0 Posted March 22, 2009 Trees are one of my FAVORITE to photograph. They have a life all their own. Are your Irvine City Hall photos displayed in a PUBLIC viewing area? I am a 10 minute drive. Thinking of taking a small "walkabout:, for inspiration. :) Link to comment
alecee 0 Posted April 2, 2009 I used to remember a wise analogy on understanding the concept of beauty for a tree. It goes by saying that one cannot look at only one season to judge the tree but to view it during the four seasons. Life is a cycle Brad just like us? Link to comment
