jay weston 0 Posted January 19, 2005 Hey Andrew, Had a look at this and then the rest of your portrait shots and Im afraid Id say this is one of the less appealing ones. Im not a portrait expert but I think the background doesn't work, and I dont like the framing, pose, lighting or composition, sorry! Id chop it down to a portrait frame, which I think would solve two big problems. Your other shots, namely http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=3045913 and the ones of Catherine are really great though, so good work on those! :) *edit* whats the original look like? jay weston 0 Posted January 21, 2005 Another thing I just noticed (as I said Im no expert) was that I think whereas you have this girl facing/turning right, she is "looking out of the frame", but theres no room, whereas if you look at some of your other shots where you have a similar composition to this one, if they are pointed into the space youve left, the composition seems much better. ayn 0 Posted January 21, 2005 Yes, I see what you were saying. I thought it might be okay as Rhyann was looking at the camera... How about this crop? Link to comment
eimages 0 Posted June 6, 2005 I like the model's look and pose and the lighting is very good. Be careful of thick dark green trees in the background. Somehow the green leaves absorb a lot of beautiful lighting from the surroundings. But I see that you are able to produce a good looking image even with the background trees. Link to comment
