Fantastic action. Shots like these are tempting for loose critique but in fact, when you get behind the camera and try to shoot it, you'll hesitate to just say what comes to mind about the outcome. I do agree with those who recommend the cut-off of the white band at the bottom although I think it'll throw it out of balance. Bravo!

Fabulous catch Harry. So unique and clear...even the snow adding drama...7/7 doesn't seem high enough.

They did'nt even fight over a piece of fish this time, but over a place on a tree trunk they both did want to rest on....Best regards, Harry

I feel glad there are photogrpahers like you sharing their outstanding work in photo.net. Congratulations for this amazing shot.

In my mind this subject is forever sealed and unsurpased(?) by a photo from Yva Momatiuk & John Eastcott (see attached)

Despite that I cannot give you anything below a 7/7

Dave I would be honoured to join you two on a photography trip. I would have the chance to learn so much from amazing photographers like you two.

Just tell me when are we leaving so that I can quit my dull job on time ;)

Kudos on the great shot. I figured you must have had some form of motor drive going to get this one. That is one of the things I love about digital - I can finally afford to take a continous stream of shots to capture the action. You must have some $ to do so very often with film!

around where I live in Prince Rupert Canada there are a few hundred resident Eagles and most shots are at the feeding zone down at the water front and they are staged and many look the same. I stay away from there and go for the natural activity of the Birds.

your shot is what I would say is a very real and natural occurrence which really appeals to me. Great Action shot. the 500mm really gave you the reach to get this eh?!!

all the best,
