pascal 0 Posted September 29, 2001 What do you think of the pose, the light, the (lack of any) shadow, and depth-of-field? Or anything else for that matter! Trying to learn, thanks! Pascal Link to comment
oneiromancer 0 Posted September 29, 2001 Pascal - good job on the lighting, it's nice and even. One thing to keep in mind is keeping continuity in your photographs - namely her neck and her shirt - I feel it would be a better portrait shifted down, so flesh of her neck remains unbroken. And another thing to watch is your choice of background - an unbroken background (such as the wall) removes the distracting elements from the left hand side of the photo. Respectfully, Brian. peza 0 Posted September 29, 2001 Longer focal length would work better, I miss flattering effect. Link to comment
gauthier 0 Posted September 30, 2001 The background is unappealing. Brian is right about the unbroken background. Another idea might be to open up a bit - your lens allows f4.5, use it. Not an enormous difference with 5.6, but it blurs the background even more. A prime lens at f1.8 would do wonders, if you're lucky enough to own something like a 50/1.8. Link to comment
