Is this better then most "carnie" photos?

I've done a few of these myself, and I especially like the fact that the "Zipper" sign didn't blow out too much during the long exposure. Great job, and nice composition!

Very zippy photo! You seem to have your exposure timed right. Did you just guess or do you have a system?

If you use a faster shutter speed like 1.500th u wont get all those lines everywhere :)

I concurr with Pauli. You could also use flash to freeze the motion and bring out the detail between the lamps.
