The picture is clean and minimalist, i like this. I also feel the orizontal framing is the better for this picture as it recalls (to me) the sense of loneliness: someway i think he must have felt lonely.

This is fantastic. It has so much impact. The colours, the composition, the pose: Perfect. I don't suppose you could have asked him to put the bag aside could you?

Hi Rory, I love the shot, though I do find the pipe on the bottom right very distracting. Looking at the person, my eye is always drawn away to see what the black dot is. Maybe try cropping it out? I would be interested to hear what other people feel.

I agree with Clive, the drain pipe needs to be cropped, It certainly draws attention away from the subject. As for the bag, it kind of mixes the old and the new. I'm glad it was left in, IMHO it does add to the overall appeal of the image.

It works fine and keep it as it is.
