Through the Broken Glass

I kind of like this perspective. Does it work for you, or do the black edges bother you? I shot this through a shattered truck window.

this works for me, the obvious star in the windows makes it clear that it is shot from within something. The couple's movement (symmetry) & the composition is just fine.

I think the idea is just great, but it could have been done better: you need a wide angle and set it to f11 or f16. I've tried something similar with a mirror and a 28mm and the angle wasn't wide enough to have the DOF I wanted... I think you need a 20mm to get something like this. The defocused crack seems more like a spider or an alien life form.

The tones are really good... looks like you made a lots of progresses with the manipulation of digital pictures... I really love the graininess here.

This was a stop on my Route 66 drive and I was actually taking photos of some of the old rusted vehicles when I saw this couple. It was a hasty shot and I agree a different DOF would have been better but I kind of like it anyway.

As for the tones? Seven and Blagoy gave me some tips and I've been experimenting more with my recent uploads. Still don't have a specific system down and my conversions are not yet consistent, but I think I'm getting there. I tend to get a lot of grain in low light situations, and it's cool as long as it doesn't come across as digital noise.

Lovely shot. Perhaps it would have been really cool if the crack was also in focus, but I think it's a great shot anyway - that couple is just wonderful!

good, very nice. I'd have tilted the lens a little, or shor straight through the crack so it covered the couple. Then again my pic might have sucked.

Very nice--the crack adds to the overall atmosphere of the image (dof doesn't bother me). Good composition. It all comes together in an evocative shot.
