The Lake

Dave, an excellent and captivating image. The "corrected" one by Christian lost the atmosphere that the original one conveys.

Portage Lake is 50 miles south of Anchorage at the end of Turnagain Arm. This lake was filled by a glacier only 100 years ago. The color is there it just needs to be increased in exposure a little. Composition at this location has always been challanging, for me as well. It is a really beautiful place but the beauty is so... huge. I like the blue/green ice and rock contrast but the big rock and open water on the left is a bit visually heavy. I did an edit in PS trying not to have it look edited. (highlight/shadow and white point levels)
