teela 0 Posted March 2, 2007 Portage Lake is 50 miles south of Anchorage at the end of Turnagain Arm. This lake was filled by a glacier only 100 years ago. The color is there it just needs to be increased in exposure a little. Composition at this location has always been challanging, for me as well. It is a really beautiful place but the beauty is so... huge. I like the blue/green ice and rock contrast but the big rock and open water on the left is a bit visually heavy. I did an edit in PS trying not to have it look edited. (highlight/shadow and white point levels) Link to comment
