mark lucas 0 Posted January 3, 2005 Superb, all the elements of a classic photograph in one: composition, timing, exposure and atmosphere. Beautiful. Link to comment
glenn mellen 0 Posted January 3, 2005 Very wonderful image. 7/6 At least the low rater here rates almost everything very low (4/4 on the upper end for her)... and as is usual of a low rater, she posts no photos under this name. Link to comment
robert holmes 0 Posted January 3, 2005 A beautiful portrayal of a forgotten aspect of China, - its tranquil canal towns. Lovely. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted January 3, 2005 Amazing! Looks like a painting. Perfect timing, perfect frame and what an atmosphere! Link to comment
gav_davies 0 Posted January 3, 2005 An absolutely stunning photo. Great capture. There does seem to be some strange ratings on this site. How can someone say that this isn't an original photo by giving it a 4? Link to comment
carsten_ranke 0 Posted January 4, 2005 Truly excellent and original, deserves a double-seven for sure. Don?t mind FC and GW, those "hit and run" anonymous low raters are a plague on PN, many of us know them already... Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted January 4, 2005 Great depiction of China, canals ,buildings, reflections, good angle that takes the eye along the houses.very beautiful 7/7/ Pnina Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted January 4, 2005 7/6 Very nice work. A small thing and hardly a critism but I would have given 7/7 if the boat was traveling in the opposite direction i.e. moving into the picture instead of out of it; my eye would be inclined to read the picture just that little bit longer. Beautiful composition though, great work! Link to comment
shami 0 Posted January 4, 2005 very strong picture indeed, composition is perfect... 7/7 Link to comment
liuyuan 0 Posted January 4, 2005 You've made me homesick. My hometown is also called Phoenix (Feng Huang Cheng), but in another province. Link to comment
geo sun 0 Posted January 4, 2005 very nice. wish to visit there sometime. the only pick is that the photo could have been taken at a better time with a better lighting. Link to comment
ian cameron 0 Posted January 5, 2005 A wonderfully evocative image just the type I most admire. Superb. Link to comment
the photo addict 0 Posted January 9, 2005 It was indeed a pity that the sun never broke through the clouds during those three days I was in Phoenix. I agree the lighting could have been better. My only wish is that I shall return in the not too distant future to shoot more frames in this well-preserved part of China, hopefully with better skills and gear. Link to comment
tomaso nigris 0 Posted January 2, 2006 I think is the boat with contrasted colors giving something special to this picture. congr Link to comment
