Guest Guest Posted January 2, 2005 As a suggestion I would suggest to include a wooden lid in the background. Even if the lid to this jar is not made of wood you can place one in the back and no one will know the difference. Another thing would be to use a polarizer in order to eliminate the white reflection on the glass. other than that it looks fine to me. Link to comment
etan_lightstone 0 Posted January 2, 2005 Actually, I had already taken a shot with the lid in view... however I preferred the other shot because I liked the close angle. Here it is anyways. Good idea with the polarizer.. it totally slipped my mind. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted January 2, 2005 Well it's a cork lid, no wonder it doesn't look right. Plus you shifted the frame too far to the left. I think if the lid were placed at the far corner in the top left, just as this image is shown, it would be much stronger (the lid barely visible by one quarter area or so, oh and of course a wooden lid, and not this ghastly cork thing). One other thing: if you have ever seen some of Irvin Penn's work you'll notice right away that a bit of "ground" coffee grounds scattered here and there on the table will compliment your subject immensely. I like the rich color on the beans. Link to comment
