johnw436 1 Posted December 31, 2004 Excellent shot! Beautiful color and detail. Did the bird sit still as long as it looks, or was this an incredibly fast shot? Link to comment
photoholic 0 Posted December 31, 2004 This was one of several dozen Hummers that visit our yard daily. They perch to guard thier feeders, or to wait for a seat to feed. Sometimes a second, but up to several minutes. This one sat about 10 seconds. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted December 31, 2004 There aren't many hummingbirds in Iowa right now but I have debated building a tripod stand with an attached hummingbird feeder and waiting with a remote cable release. Link to comment
photoholic 0 Posted December 31, 2004 Once these little jewels get comfortable with your feeder, you probably won't need a tripod or remote. This shot was taken hand held, from about seven feet, while in plain view. Link to comment
