You shouldn't be facing the sun.. the sun is not a very nice angle from where you've taken this shot I think. It's different if you intentionally wanted those sun flares come by the leaves..but that spoils the color of the leaves... the yellows could be brighter instead if you had the sun behind you instead.. I would certainly looked at the tree from a different angle so that the leaves show up..

I think it is good to shut some time oposite light to have warm color.I like it
