Guest Guest Posted December 28, 2004 Those trees are fabulous!!! What are they? This is a great shot. I would consider cropping the image on the left to eliminate the tree trunk that's creeping into the frame. As it is, it's a distracting dark band. I might also crop the bottom to just above the shadow. Link to comment

june_ranson 0 Posted December 31, 2004 Thanks for the link to the info about these trees. They are truly amazing. It's a shame human activities threaten their survival. Link to comment
axelg 3 Posted December 31, 2004 Thank you all for your comments. Check the other picture of the baobab alley in my Madagascar folder, the crop and lighting are different.Yes it's true those wonderful landscapes are threatened by human activities: Chinese industries settled 10 miles from this site and they flood all the plains to irrigate their plantations, which is harmful to baobabs. When you consider those trees are more than 700 years old... Call Greenpeace! Link to comment
ricardo navarro 0 Posted February 2, 2005 Amazing trees! I agree with Laurie about the cropping, and even would crop the bottom until the beginning of the continuous grass band at right. I think that could better balance the composition and make the baobabs stand out better Link to comment
axelg 3 Posted February 2, 2005 I do agree about cropping the shade and the trunk. Ricardo, thank you very much for your comments on my pictures, I really appreciate. Link to comment
