wonderful shot! the contrast is very compelling. i'm actually getting sick of white house/flag motifs lately, but this is gripping. a fine job in rendering such a stately structure. i only find myself longing for more sharpness in the grass and elsewhere.

Moody, miserable winter sky, but the lighting really sets it apart - making the trees stand out almost 3 dimensionally.

Great shot of the White House done a little differently from most of what you see out there. I have a tendency to put my camera away during what I call the ugly season...(brown grass and no leaves on the trees and white overcast skies) However, this shot makes me realize that I might be missing something. Great mood here as has been said...and I love the pattern of the tree branches and shadows on the ground. Nice.
