As a small image it looks interesting. When enlarged its looks horribly manipulated, badly smudged and un-natural. My viewpoint is that your technique is de-enhancing the image and that too little photography and too much inexperienced manipulation is going on here...

The strength of stone sculpture, the intensity of life. I can't see this being any better. Dramatic strength. Like how the bird is above us. lend's to it's strength.

I just read John Falkenstine's comment and just had to say, that I think you have made a fantastic photo - In my opinion it sets a standard for others to shoot for and i don't understand John's arguments.

in the end its his opinion and as this is an public forum he has the right to post whatever he thinks about this image ( at least he was fair enough to give a comment explaining his bad rating 2/2 which already seems to be removed by an admin. );
