toy and vintage Garden Allotment study no12

This photo doesn't really work for me. The composition is ok I suppose... but I guess the subject isn't intresting enough for me personally... the contrast is a bit strong too, with some of the whites rather white and some of the blacks rather black (on my screen) but with fairly little tones in between. I noticed this was part of a series, and must say that the other photos work better on their own, and make a nice series, but I don't think this particular photo would add a lot to the series as a whole.

Thanks for your thoughts Julien. By around frame 12 I was scratching my head for a different looking composition and fell on this. The 'design' is in the white posts and how they operate to divide the square frame into 9 smaller ones. Through having this idea in mind I am perhaps guilty of over dodging the white posts that divide the frame in the way I was on about.

Hmm ok, interesting. I probobably would have left more room for the small steps, to lead the eye into the composition myself. Indeed, one of the things that bothered me was the dodging on the front post. There is a sort of mirrored shape in the center. One post going up, four posts further there is one going down. I probably find this mirrored shape to be rather in the center, and I think that's why I must have overlooked the idea of deviding the frame in nine smaller ones.
