This photo is kinda blurred and the contrast may not be optimal because it is just a scan made on a 600dpi flatbed scanner of a contact print that was made from 35mm film, still held in a clear plastic PrintFile archiver, exposed using a 7 Watt frosted light bulb held in an Ikea desk lamp, and timed using my wrist watch. It may not be the best scan/print, but you get the idea.

This is a wonderful photo. I see it as a wry commentary. It's difficult to be greatly disturbed by a dead animal by the side of the road when a drive down any road passing through a wooded area will produce dozens of little carcases. The blurred car lights are just right. I can't help but think that the animal has a rather dumb look on his face that offers an inadvertent humor to the shot. And I can't help but be amused thinking of you on your belly getting the shot.

Hehe, I'm impressed - you're visualizing beyond the image in the photograph, and even trying to see the photographer behind it. Just so you know, I stayed off my belly for this shot because I did stop by the side of a small highway to take the photograph. Instead, I used a mini tripod made by Slik that's sturdy enough to hold a FM2 with a 70-210 lens on it, and kneeled down (such that I could watch the cars passing by) to setup the shot.
