Wow! What a dreamy place! It looks like it's from a sci-fi movie set! Absolutely incredible... I'm putting this on my list of "must-see" places! Dang, God has done a wonderful job on this planet. You did an outstanding job of capturing this place.

When I was a kid I had a dream of a place like this. It was very relaxing but what I saw in the water was a huge Carabela like the one used by Americo when visited the americas. This picture reminds me a lot of my dream.

Randy, it seems you have missed the location information I left in the details section. YingXi township is located west of the city of YingDe next to Hwy 107, about 2 hours by car north of GuangZhou (Canton) which is the provincial capital. It took me five hours riding a tour bus north from Hong Kong. You will need to hire a local guide to find this cave when you get there. Good luck!

I hate photos that are posted that don't tell you where it was taken. It is just plain wong to do. Big ZERO from me.

- Randy that is not just a silly comment, it is disrespectful to the photographer who asks for a comment about his photograph - not his location which, in the vast internal realm of art, simply does not matter.

Hi Julius - good shot. Love the feeling of doubling up, and the fact that people can actually reach such idyllism.

The exposure is impressive though I would burn down the hazy feel of the top half. Did you take 2 shots exposing for high and low tones, and then combine?

Nice work - wouldn't expect to find this just 2 hours out.

Hi Seven, This picture is not a composite. With the boat moving, it was not possible to bracket for exposure. But since I shoot RAW exclusively, I can easily achieve that bracketing effect at raw conversion time by varying the exposure compensation. However my PS skill is elementary. I still have not mastered the technique for constrast masking. I agree the illuminated portion of this photo is over exposed. It would be nice to selectively darken it.

I actually spent more than an hour there with my camera mounted on a tripod. As the light shines through a collapsed portion of the cave's ceiling, I had to wait until mid-day noon time to get this illumination effect. As evidenced by the boat loads of tourists, this is really a popular and well-known cave locally. I am sure other photographers had taken better shots of this scene than me. Now if only I can improve my PS skill.......

Top! Incredible depth in every direction.

(what kind of people do we have here, like Mr. Mils, who definitly don't understand art?????)

.....of a beautiful place Julius. It seems like the small boat with people aboard is sailing in to the mouth of the dragon. Wonderful light, color contrast and mood. Splendid composition....Best regards, Harry

This photo reminds me of Bev Doolittle's painting "Season of the Eagle". There is something in your image for everyone. Nice job.
