Hmmm...just wondering why someone would give this a 1/1 with no explanation as to why.

Not worth the effort of wondering, James! It is a great shot in the opinion of the majority so a few in the opposite camp make little difference.

Love that soft focus effect (opaqued gaussian blur?) that combines with monochromic approach and excellent composition. Classy is the word. Looks like an early 20's Olymic event. Nostalgic, really. Did I already said I like this? ^_^

Simply superb artistically and emotionally.

I love how all the lines drive my eyes along your photo. I think I'ts one of the most original and well composed I'v seen at photo.net.

I would like to have seen the image with greater sharpness as it seems to have significant amount of motion blur from the camera. What focal length and shutter speed was used?
