A few weeks ago i was shooting and posting shots of flowers, sunsets, cats, all kind of cute things like that and tought it was what other peoples where shooting but then i discovered this web site (PN). I browsed a lot and realised there was many ways (a lot more original then mine) to express your own perception of beauty... i sure was not prepared for this...

I hope i'm not the only one to see a face in there ??? i'm not ready yet to conceive it as something beautyful but i must admit i would like this shot to be mine because i see a lot of potential. Your starting point is not bad but IMO you should consider some manipulations to make it look less like what it is. From the first second i looked at it, i knew exactly what it was and tought: " not much to see here" but then i saw the face and started looking more curiously, expecting something more.... I think it would have be nice to see the face first then realise i was staring at a chicken ( am i right) carcass.

I don't know what you should do to make it stronger but i would try another crop, maybe make the hidden face bigger or just play with the color.

anyway, i think you should keep posting images like this one, which is a lot more brain tickling than my flowers shots...

cheers, Pascal

I reckon your title is tongue-in-cheek, disengenuous. Perhaps you disbelieve in inner beauty as in the emotional & psychological aspects of the psyche.

I see only death. The carcass, the face with eyes drawn against the time-space continuum.

Bare bones and guts, foundation stones for what we may be.

It causes revulsion at first. This is as it is and will be. It creates a pause for thought - because of your title. I am trying to understand. I ask myself would I even take a second look sans the title. The answer is probably no.

I don't like it, but I do like the fact that you can express yourself in this way - only I'm not sure you have communicated with me. I have different ideas concerning inner beauty. Regards, Seven.

I also see a face and think it has to be a coincidence.

the gross feeling comes from the wetness of the subject matter. I find what you have accomplished with the tones, saturatios does give it a 'pretty' face. I also find that it has some rather interesting lines and holds the attention quite well once you get over what it is and justify the face in the right hand side is not what it appears (or maybe it is?)

what ever this is or was my only second thought was I hope it died for some other reason than this shot. I do feel if you cant kill it, look at it, chop it up, then you shouldnt cook it or eat it.

Imagine it's the stomach of a fish. If you put a pearl or a ring somewhere inside it, then there's a beauty and there's a story. Now it's only a background not helping me very much to drink my morning coffee. But the concept is great. Don't look inside the beauty. Take it without a lot of thought, otherwise you could lose it. It beautifully also excites reason! The only thing.. The world is too severe and not always it would be desirable to see similar, but from the point of view of art submission - is excellent! Where you have disappeared?:)

Hmmm....For whatever reason, I think this is an avian species and I believe it's upside down. If you can get past the fact that it's a disemboweled animal, the lines shapes and colors are quite nice. The transparent connective tissues create a nice effect. Compositionally, this might be just a tad too busy. If I was compelled to shoot this type of subject (photographically of course), I might isolate specific anatomical features such as the ribs/spinal column to produce a more abstract image. The broken ribs would probably have been my focus. Certainly an interesting photo for discussion.

Pascal Henri En fait je vois deux visages.

Two faces: One tortured almost in the middle of the picture over the metal blue fingers of the ribs. The second near the right border over the shadow (2/3 of the picture).

Well people saw a face on Mars :-) and our mind is tuned to recognize faces.

Very great picture and idea.

I see very beautifull colors, lines and areas in a well balanced composition, a strong graphic expression, and a good mix of matt and shiny surface areas. And I see some remainings of a dead animal. It remains me of the movies of Peter Greenaway: Unpleasant stories wrapped into beautifull scenery, photography and music. I find this contradiction between appearance and content very interesting. I think art is at its best when it has an unpleasant touch. Like here.

I've been staring at this thing for a good couple minutes now, and all I can think of to say is it's fasinating. It intregues the mind, particularly after reading your little poetry. Still think your twisted :P
