barclayphoto 0 Posted December 11, 2004 Used the 30mm ultra wide on the XPAN to capture a slightly different view of a favorite spot. Link to comment
joel_truckenbrod 0 Posted December 11, 2004 Very nice. I've noticed quite a few people using the Xpan recently and the results (when in capable hands) are generally very engaging. Your picture is a good example. The pano format really pushes this past where it would be with a standard 35mm format. Well done. Just out of curiosity, do you find the format difference to be challenging in terms of composition? Link to comment
barclayphoto 0 Posted December 11, 2004 Joel, Yes at first it was a bit frustrating, however, as with anything new ie: square format vs 35mm with practice and time it becomes second nature. You begin to "see" xpan images. A friend once said ... if the xpan does not add anything to a regular 35mm scene don't shoot it! Link to comment

poutnik 1 Posted December 13, 2004 The panoramic format of Xpan certainly makes a good point on this scene... Jiri Link to comment
leighperry 0 Posted June 12, 2005 This is a classic application for the Xpan. It yields a great sense of depth, of being there under the forest canopy. Basing your composition on trees of different distances accentuates the depth further. Very nice work. Cheers, Leigh. Link to comment
