jdn 0 Posted December 10, 2004 i love the way she shines out from the centre of the frame, this picture is surreal/mystic in a way. at first i thought the man to her left takes away from the overall mood by his suppressed grin... but no. It actually adds to it, its more realistic and thats what documentary is all about. Thats just a wicked photo. The title is great as well. Link to comment
fisheye 0 Posted December 13, 2004 Hmmm. Biogon. It's good. Nice B/W.BTW, Do you have any idea about Flektogon lens?I need a small advice for my Flektogon. (35mm f/2.4) =) Link to comment
yasumasa_yanagisawa 0 Posted December 16, 2004 Thank you for comments. Good correspondence between subject and photographer makes good result, I believe.Regarding your request, Sang Kyu, I show you some examples by Flektogon on this portfolio, (1), (2), (3). All by Flektogon 35/2.8 for old Contax S, but can be used by other SLR such as present Contax, Pentax and Canon by the help of adapters. Its performance is still good beyond the age of 50 years and you can get milder images, not so sharp like present lenses. In other words, you can have images that present lenses will never have. Only problem is it's not easy to find out ones in good condition. Good luck! Link to comment
fisheye 0 Posted December 16, 2004 First of all, thank you for your beautiful examples and answer. And my Flektogon is really good condition(Wow!). I'll get beautiful photo with my new lens. =) BTW I have a adapter with correction lens. But this correction lens caused a big problem.(Only Nikon SLR has this problem.) It decrease Flektogon's optic quality. That's why I ordered new adapter(without correction lens). Maybe I couldn't caputer beautiful landcscape but that's fine for me. I'll take a beautiful family photo. Thank you again for helpful comment. =) どうもありがとうございます! Link to comment
yasumasa_yanagisawa 0 Posted December 16, 2004 Sang Kyu, it's a problem if your camera is Nikon. Flektogon was made for Contax M42 mount. Its flange back is shorter than Nikon (Olympus, Leica R) mount. That is the reason why the adapter needs correction lens. Without the lens, Nikon can not get infinity. If you really want to enjoy old M42 lenses by latest body, there is no other choice but to have Contax or Canon EOS. (I wrote a book "All the road leads to Leica" introducing the mechanism and the joy of adapter work, but only in japanese, sorry.) Link to comment
