I think this would have been really interesting without the cross-section. Would have resembled a deep space shot of a planet otherwise!

I agree... I was thinking to make a "crescent moon" effect too while i was taking the pictures, but changed my mind.

 

Plus its not that easy to find a plain onion without stripes....

I do like the this one. You have so many 'clever' shots in your portfolio.

 

I would have positioned this a little more comfortably in the frame. It just feels a little tight at the edge.

Fixed it. Now is less cramped. :)
