Seemn like many peoples perceive the gay thing like an offend to them or their virility, maybe that's what explain the unfair 1/1 you received. Personaly i'm not to comfortable with it but this is not what we are here for. Objectively i think your picture is very good, lighting and contrast works very well, other peoples in the frame, "dressed" the same as the subject makes the context. The only thing that disturb me a bit (Photographicaly speaking) LOL is the white spot on the left i think you should remove it. Very good 6/7 (the 7 is for aving the guts to post something as controversial as this) This is my humble opinion.

Thank you Pascal..it took me awhile to even learn to post my pics and I had reservations about it, but it really is a continuation of my studies on documenting subcultures at night. I don't know or have software to eliminate the shiny surface on the left, but it's emotion I'm after, not "clean" images. Mary

Well in this case Mary your goal is achieved. This shot is loaded with emotions so don't change a thing. BTW i browsed trough your portfolio and must say i like it very much, of emotions you are the queen, Hats off to you Mary.

Thanks Pascal. I've got 30+ yrs of this type of shooting, but it may be my last...my arthritis, age, and bad back are failing me. I dropped a 645 last time I went shooting in a bar this summer..picked up a couple holgas but certainly not the same.

Strong image. I like the way you light these scenes. Your photos do have a roughness to them that I like. Please don't stop shooting...I know what you mean about the 'heavy' gear....

You can complain about the low rating of Javier L. at abuse@photo.net or keep it as it is. Better extreme reaction than no reaction!

M. Danger's images posted here are not only visually striking and beautiful but feel important as documents of a specific time and plane -- i.e. they are real art in my opinion. I hope they have gotten wide exposure--and that they get more in the future.

On the technical side, I'm really impressed by the expert use of flash on a manual focus rangefinder, and love the rough edged borders of the prints/scans. I'd love to hear more about her working methods.
