Guest Guest Posted December 3, 2004 Refreshing treatment of an oft-viewed subject! The pouring sensation and leading lines are well thought for maximum impact! Link to comment
thomas_turk 0 Posted December 3, 2004 Strict and clear composition. Superb exposure, catching the highlights correctly and darkening the rest of the pix for drama and harmony. The sky color, and ..cloud and earth texture, detail, contrasts and vibrancy stinks of film and super optics..Waiting for the large cumulus partly hidden behind the mountain, to appear in the mid gap would have raised the level of the composition. chris_womack 0 Posted December 4, 2004 Hi Mark, Your other shot of the same subject has warmer colours, and I think works better! It is a fantastic location. Well done, Chris Link to comment
harry eggens 0 Posted December 5, 2004 ....composition and perspective Mark. Wonderful curved lines in the rocks, wich leeding the eye in to the scene. I also like the colored layers in the rocks very much. Excellent work....Best regards, Harry Link to comment
CosteaM 2 Posted December 5, 2004 magnificent! 7/7 - are you using large format, I would be greatful for some technical details, film camera ... thank you. Link to comment
biskamp 1 Posted December 8, 2004 I am rather surprised to see these high ratings. Apart from the use of a wide angle lens there is nothing special about this photo, neither light nor angle. The colors are even rather unnatural. Everybody going takes this picture. I dont blame the photograher, he is quite innocent, I blame those giving these ratings. Dieter Link to comment
leeuwtje 0 Posted December 14, 2004 Thank you all for your positive remarks! Lee:I was indeed trying to emphasize the inleading lines of the wave. Thank you. Harry: I already send you an email. Great to get a compliment form a pro like you!! Mihai:Sorry to disappoint you ... 35 mm, Canon Elan II, loaded with Velvia, 20-35 USM stopped down to 8 or 11, heavy tripod. This sounds less sexy than LF ... although the hike would be less fun with heavy equipment Thomas:Thanks for your detailled remarks. To be honest I ran in the wave for two hours being happy that I was there and that there were clouds that I didn't pay attention to where the were... Chris:The other shot was done with Kodak VS, and this one with Velvia. Somehow I can't work very well with Velvia .. Dieter:Thanks for your remarks. I saw about the same photo in your portofolio. As Lee pointed out I was especially trying to get more foreground an emphasize the lines. Interesting that you make the same remark to my picture as somebody else made to yours ;) Thanks for your time to make a comment. GreetingsLeeuwtje Link to comment

kristina_kraft 0 Posted July 3, 2007 Truly remarkable view. The Rocky Mountain's layers seems so unreal, plastic. The design of nature is indeed original. Link to comment

vadim_makarov 0 Posted July 24, 2007 Ive asked this before in another image and did not get an answer. With little hope, let me repeat it. Has any of you ever wondered how have these rock patterns and shapes came into existence? Link to comment
