pt2 0 Posted December 2, 2004 Not as sharp as I hoped, but for a 15 s/f11 exposure i'm pleased with it none the less. Noise was a bit of a problem as well but i reduced that as much as poss' by blurring the blue channel a bit. Any other tips on how to keep noise down on these type of pictures? Link to comment
htc 0 Posted December 2, 2004 I would say that for the exposure time you used, this is a very good pic. It fits the theme well. I would crop the left part to remove the part of the door and window. calin Link to comment
pt2 0 Posted December 2, 2004 Uhm...wondered about cropping the left side but would rather have included the whole side mirror - alas wide angle not wide enought, LOL. What about this crop? Link to comment
glabarca 0 Posted December 2, 2004 The cropped version is sharper, much better, I think this photos gains a lot being sharper. I dont think that cropping is a big issue. In fact I think that the uncropped version is better, a wider angle would have been even better, a wider perspective makes to see first the road and the tunel, while the cropped version emphazises the driver and the car. It fits very well the assignement. Why is the driver at the right? Anyhow it looks as an uncanny science fi. film, very dinamic. Link to comment
pt2 0 Posted December 3, 2004 We drive on the left hand side of the road in this place. There are many countries that do. Which one am I in? The clue is in the picture. Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted December 3, 2004 Very spooky image - I like it a lot. Very unusual and it has an almost comic book look to it. I like the original crop; it has more depth to it, like I am sitting in the back seat, viewing this through the windshield. Link to comment
silvertip 0 Posted December 3, 2004 Must be a 2001 model car. I'd crop just a tad off each side and rotate a degree or two to the right. Nice job! Link to comment
robidooo 0 Posted December 3, 2004 I like more the cropped version. The fact that it emphasis the driver more than the road is what I prefer in this photo. This almost look like a drunk driver's view. He think he is correct to drive, not too drunk, but in fact, the outside is what he is really seeing. I like it a lot and really think it fits the theme. seven 0 Posted December 3, 2004 It feels slightly furtive and/ or aggressive - i.e. the light rapes or splits the night. The light emphasises the nocturnal theme; both within the cabin and without.I prefer the original version for the wider view which makes me feel like I might be part of the frame. I feel more comfortable cocooned in the car. The inline image is better sharpened but there I feel like a spectating outsider.Impressive PT, especially given the shutter speed. Link to comment
david_williams10 0 Posted December 4, 2004 Taken in the UK as I see an IAM sticker in the top LH corner of the windscreen.:-) David Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted December 5, 2004 I thought you drove on the left side of the road but in the right side of the car. Isnt us yanks that drive on the right but from the left side? Hmm now I'm wondering if this isnt some Oregon mail car...wait I dont see any rust, cant be. I love the sci-fi feel to it that others have mentioned. The original version is my pick. The other cropped version makes the frame too tight and I feel boxed in. Excellent theme fit imo. Once question is what the o'sh*t handle doing above the rear view mirror? Link to comment
pt2 0 Posted December 6, 2004 Seven: I think you should seek professional help re your interpretation, LOL. David: Yep, the UK is correct and that is an Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM) sticker TL. Knicki: The car is on the left side of the road and the driver is on the right side of the car. Not sure what you are seeing to confuse you otherwise. You Yanks (and many others) do drive on the right side of the road and sit on the left but i do not know of any who sit on the same side of the car as the side of the road they drive one, mail and refuse trucks excluded. The 'handle' above the mirror is actually a courtesy and map light. Thanks to all for comments. A happy PT. Link to comment
