oswegophoto 1 Posted December 1, 2004 Practically a CGI look, but, man, it sure "pops" (sorry, resistance was futile) . Really floats above the complementary background. Nice! Link to comment
david bohn 0 Posted December 1, 2004 Thanks Don, actually the only thing I manipulated was the lable. Damm lables get me every time. Link to comment
thomas_collins1 0 Posted December 1, 2004 Bottles drive me crazy. So damn hard to photograph without the reflections of umbrellas and strobes. In some cases I make the reflections work for me, in other cases I have to painstakenly setup monster sized wrap around reflectors with a hole to poke my lens through. Another good tactic is two large black subtractive panels to each side, and a large shoot-through white panel in front with the prerequisite lens hole. Welcome to the world of shooting glass. ;-) Link to comment
david bohn 0 Posted December 1, 2004 Thanks Thomas that is some good advice. Sometimes I too find that a nice highlight can add to creating shape to the bottle, making it look a bit more 3D, but I'm with ya on the hot reflections that we sometimes get, one trick that I do is to make sure my reflector and softbox fabric is as wrinkle free as possible, you wouldn't believe how much that helps. Thanks for the comment. Link to comment
dave_nitsche 0 Posted December 2, 2004 Actualy I have found that the absence of highlights is was usually generated the 'wow looks rendered' comments. I get em all the time because I mostly use indirect light with glass. I hardly ever point a flash or light directly at it. I really love the soft look that you have here in the glass. The background is perfect for the subject also as the tones go so well together. Is it a picture? Great product shot... Link to comment
