Very good capture; a nice image well timed. The sailplane's wings are lifting, just about to liftoff into the sky.

 

Might I suggest a slightly different crop? I'd suggest pulling in the sides tighter, and making it more of a vertical/portrait shape. I think this adds more constriction to the plane as it sits on the ground, and implies the freedom that can be obtained in the sky.

 

Or maybe I'm just full of hooey. You decide; this is what I was thinking of.

Erik, thanks to you and others before you for your comments. I agree your crop improves it. Actually the glider is also airborne in the shot, he's probably about 5m / 15ft up.

Oops! Heh. My eyes/brain tricked me with the perspective. Now that you mention it and I see it, I wonder what I was thinking...

I didn't realize the glider was airborne at first either. I saw the shot and cringed at the imminent accident! (I guess you use the low tow position in Australia.)
