seven 0 Posted November 26, 2004 Hi Ignacio - that's a great background : where did you take this from - balcony? I think the focal length (I'm estimating about 100mm in traditional terms?) does underscore the feeling of loneliness you're endeavouring to convey. I just wonder if you could have zoomed in a little more on the subject so that he/ she would occuy a touch more of the frame. Otherwise, to be fussy, softer light and longer shadow might have been nice, but I am not criticising - I like the shot. Cheers, Seven. Link to comment
suresh randadath 0 Posted November 26, 2004 I agree with Seven on the shadows. Probably worth re-taking this shot either early in the morning or later in the afternoon, so that the glare from the floor is slightly reduced and the texture of the tiles will be more apparent. Otherwise, the current composition, I think, is good enough. It gives a sense of scale for the vast floor space. Great shot! Link to comment
ignacio izquierdo 0 Posted November 26, 2004 Thanks a lot for your comments. I took this photo coming down from Ulm Cathedral (Germany). I didn't know the girl but I liked how she looked like and how the photo seem to be. Anyway I think your comments are right, a little later in the evening will provide a softer light and not so much brightness in the middle and at the same time the shadow sill be longer, which can also be interesting. Now I will have to find another day with few people, because usually this square is so crowded that is not so easy to take a picture like that. Thanks a lot for your time and opinions. :D. Kindly Regards. Ignacio Link to comment
shamik 0 Posted December 9, 2004 Oh i quite simply love this one. I love just about everything about it...the way you have placed the girl, and the space you have alloted to the background...the sense of loneliness is palpable. A stronger, longer shadow would have also worked fine, but often, while taking photographs we dont always get what we want. Great eye. Congrats Ignacio! Link to comment
