jenny2 0 Posted November 21, 2004 The lighting, texture and colour of this image are wonderful. The eyes really looks like those of a scared animal on the verge of escaping danger. I might have darkened the upper left corner a bit, though. It takes the focus off the face. Lovely! Link to comment
billangel 9,671 Posted November 21, 2004 Powerful and frightening. Resembles a detail from an oil painting. Link to comment

krum krumov 0 Posted November 22, 2004 Excellent Dimitri! The beast is only on the surface. The more you look at the photo, the more emotional layers you discover. Keep it up! Link to comment

shambhala 0 Posted March 14, 2005 Hi Dimitri, Thanks for your comments on my gallery. You are right: as a portraitist, I find it is important to be close to the people I photograph, trust is need from both parts and the only way to achieve that is to talk to people in an engaging way, which I am good at! Many photographers like using a long lens for portraiture but I find it creates too much distance between me and them. That's why all my pictures were taken with a 55mm, bringing me nearer to them. I really like your autoportraits! But I want to see more photos! What are you shooting at the moment? All the best. Link to comment
