I don't keep pets but I like Cats. Yesterday during a walk in my

backyard, I had a close encounter with this beautiful Cat, scanning

my garbage container. I was planning to shoot a few pictures. May be

he did not like my unwanted and untimely intrusion in his brunch.

Here was his response to the camera as if saying "Do you mind..."

and will you let me do what I was doing ...... Comments and ratings

welcome.

Thanks for the comments. I did enlarge the image to see the details. Initially when I was post processing the image I thought it was a tear but then its not liquid. May be a soft tissue growth and needs surgery for removal... LOL

I am not a big fan of cats because of my allergies. But I enjoyed looking at this picture. Very sharp and detailed. Wonderful use of light. Sparkle in the eye gives the picture an extra touch.

Nice image. Please tell me what gves the almost glowing outward effect, especially seen in the green area of the backround? Nice detail in the eyes and face.

Thanks everybody for your comments and time. I highly appreciate.

Thanks for shring your cat pictures, Hugh and Mari Mar, they were really very cute. Jayme I used zoom pan while taking the picture using very wide aperture I think f3.1 This gives the feeling of movement and seems as if the cat was moving towards you. I'm glad you noticed it and I must appreciate your keen eye......

outstanding cat portrait. i luv the feeling & a sense of regard 4 the cats this photo generates. the hidden aggressive nature is very much evident from the seemingly peaceful eyes. entire face is full of insidious expressions & the luvly blurr that creates a sense of legendry silent movement of cats, enhanced by the way head enters into the frame. also helps establishe a powerful composition.. almost unnoticable tilt of the neck, caused by a reluctant pause due 2 sudden encounter with the camera enhances the consciousness of the animal & the watchful concentration prevails all across the face. absolutely stunning.

Cats are not top on my list these days....but I do love your capture of this creature...the zoom is what really sets this one apart for me.
