nanasousadias 0 Posted November 17, 2004 This was my second experiment with a large format camera, on a helicopter. The first try was a big disaster, everything was out of focus. You don't have a way to confirm focus on the ground glass, inside a heli, and it's very easy that something touches the focusing knob on flight, because you are in a tiny room with a big camera and it is a big "shaker machine". My big mistake was to change lens. This time, I focused it to infinity and I "glued" the focusing knob with it's fixing device and used the same lens, so I didn't had to change focus. Next time, I'm gonna try it with color slide film. Link to comment
sterioma 0 Posted November 18, 2004 The results are worth the effort and repeated trip on top of the chopper! The very fact that the horizon is straight is just as amazing (well, I've never flewn on a helicopter, so I have no idea how stable it can be...).We'll see the colour then! Link to comment
davidroossien 0 Posted November 24, 2004 Stunning clarity. This is one of the cleanest shots from the air I've ever seen. Link to comment
tom grubbe 0 Posted November 24, 2004 Wow, this is breathtaking, the slide must be awesome. I envy your plunge into large format, it looks like you are enjoying it and taking the right approach. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted January 8, 2005 Wow, this is very nice. I like the composition with the lines taking you in the amazing depth of the picture. And being in B&W makes it special. Not many photographers will get in a helicopter with a monocrome film loaded. And it works out perfect. Good work! Link to comment
