Thank you very much for your comments. Indeed I've under exposed it while making it sepia to increase the contrast of the shapes on his face.I prefer it this way.

I was thinking of putting it on the street folder, as it was shot on the street; now I think I made a good choice to consider it as a portrait.

No doubt, this is a portrait, not a street photo. I think street photos are photos which show scenes in the street. A portrait can be made in the street, it remains a portrait. This one is excellent moreover. I like the two versions. On the darken one, the look of the old man seems more dramatic, or worried than on the other.

Excellent shot and subject. Did you intentionally leave out detail in the left eye? I think dodging a bit here might alter the mood... not sure for the better or not.

it wasn't intentionally.. and I've tried your method... but the result was not a thinking man but a bilnd man :D
