the neighborly beast...

this is my neighbors chow...he was out taking a bathroom break and

popped between me and the sun while i was busy photographic my

dogs...i saw the brilliant shine through his light and inspiration

struck....comments are very much appreciated over ratings....

The highlights are way too much distracting IMO.

This one to me is much more visually stimulating. The hot areas are perceived as intended and work well, even adding to the Chow's perceived personality as agressive. Nice image

Nice exposure, especially with the halo effect from backlighting. Gives somewhat of a ironic halo to a devilish looking sneer.

 

I would crop it a little tighter, perhaps even consider a square format. There are elements in the background (and foreground for that matter) that seem distracting to me.
