Florence, from the Piazzelle Michelangelo

I feel this looks best in the LARGER VIEW. Handheld, f22 at 1/125th second. Inverted, cropped, and adjusted using Photoshop CS in Ektaspace. Processed through NeatImage 4.

I like both versions. This is my favorite, because it gives me the sensation of soaring above the city. Very well done!

How can you ask such a stupid question? Its looks great, and huge amounts of detail. The tree framing is a good touch, as well, adds a bit of variety to work against the buildings.

The one thing I wasn't so sure about was the strength of the blues in the sky- do they detract from the city itself? I couldn't decide either way on this. Maybe a few others will give they're opinion...

...by the way, MUST VIEW LARGE!

Amazing depth of field! I am truly impressed with the colour in this image. A great image of a very picturesque city

Yes, a fascinating shot! For me the detail is what makes this more successful than your 35mm version. I agree with Stephen about the blues. Fot my taste I would reduce cyan and blue saturation. The other colours look good.

Nice shot, the clouds are a bit distracting on the left side as they seem to have lost a bit of detail in the small version, but when viewed large it is a wonderful city shot.

Walt, I like the wide effect here, yet with so much detail, especially if viewed on large. I love the sky about as much as I love the details of the city.

I was going back over my list of highest rating of photos and came across this one of yours again. I just saved it to my desktop background in order to survive Groundhog Day. Hope you don't mind. I must admit the colours are obscenely bright compared to my winter available palette. I also wondered how heavy that Pentax 6x7 II was to tote around. regards, Bill.

Bill, I wish I could go back to that warm, sunny Florentine fantasy right now! I am honored that you would consider using one of my photographs for a wallpaper.

The 67 is quite heavy to carry around, no doubt about that. But I think it is worth every bit of the pain to do so, too. I might make a large print of this one, maybe something around 20x36 or so. Do you think I could fool people into thinking it was a Canaletto? Nah! Thanks for stopping by. Regards.

Looking at the same scene you've captured on 35mm one can see why MF is really worth all the trouble. Well done!

Thanks Yury! The difference is even more obvious looking at the originals (both film and scans) here at home. The 135 format is great for its speed of operation and convenience, but MF is the way to go for detail and tone. Thanks for the visit. Regards.
