pradeep satyaprakash 0 Posted November 17, 2004 Elegant. The contrast of the swirling water to the flat static horizon is great. Link to comment
michaelseewald 237 Posted November 17, 2004 Sky is a little too light, taking away from the strength, which has been mentioned and is obvious, the bottom two thirds. Love the natural vignetting in the bottom right, keeping the eye in the frame, as well as the bottom left. Nice sense of time and place with great depth, light, contrasts, textures, mono-chromatic theme, placement of elements and center of interests, both main and secondary. A real WOW and almost perfect. (Not much is until we get to heaven). Here is where the discussion of 'original' will hurt you. Many believe because it's a seascape, that it's not original, thus the 7/6's I hear them boast they gave you. But the strength of how you captured it MAKES IT ORIGINAL. I see it more of a 6/7 because of the light sky. I hope 'you people' change you thinking on these very strong, 'regular' subjects treated so specially. Blessings, MS Link to comment
lukep 0 Posted November 17, 2004 (erm Michael S, 6 = very good originality) The motion of the water definitely sets this apart from most of the pack. Well done Luke Link to comment
michaelseewald 237 Posted November 17, 2004 Yeah, 6 is ok, especially compared to the 6/3 and 5/4 he rec'd. But do you see what I mean, A SIX/THREE?? A couple of people 'really searching' gave it a 4/5- probably thought that they could do better at stopping the movement than he did!!? MS Link to comment
dennis_chamberlain 0 Posted November 18, 2004 Thanks again for the comments. Recently, I have begun to include the sun in my landscape and seascape images. I feel that it makes the image more powerful. I have always tried to give the seascape images a sense of motion by using slow shutter speed. I am honored to know that this is a well liked image.
