oh, I just love this immense blue sea, and the capture of those two seagulls in opposite angle is brillant! 6/6

Thank you, Biliana

This reminds me of "Ying & Yang." The position of the 2 birds and the 2 halves of blue, one light, and one dark. Wonderful capture!

Strange thing, but that is the reason why I've chosen this one from a large number of like shots. We see the same!

to All : it's just a river and the picture was shot from a bridge with Canon 75-300mm IS.

Why is the lower bird's shadow to its left while the other bird's shadow is not. Also the shade on the waves show sunlight coming from one direction while the birds, along with their uneven surfaces in relation to the same sun, seem to have even lighting on them at every angle. Do my eyes decieve me?

:)) Well, don't get you concerning the shadows of the birds: they both are to the right.

Might be better to ask me of the lighting conditions. There was no direct sunlight BTW.

The gulls are in the bridge shadow. 1st source - the reflected light from the almost clear sky, 2nd - from a small but very bright white cloud, 3rd - from the bridge footing.

So, your eyes don't deceive you.

They just fetch your brain visual information.

The rest depends on what you seek in other peoples art work.

Gulls in the shadow of a bridge are lit up. A single bridge makes two distinct bands of shade across the image. A small cloud in the middle of a very clear day adds fill light while the surrounding bright sky does not. A bridge footing shadow that appears nowhere.

I see now.
