Wonderful details and expression. The eyes are great, and the way they pop out and provide all the contrast in the photograph is what makes this for me.

 

I wouldn't want to give her any more room in the composition - I think the cramped space complements the intensity of her eyes. It might be interesting to try a square crop, but I wouldn't want to lose the ruffled hair on the left or end up with the eyes absolutely dead center - that might make it too static.

This work is the opitomy of social work. I only wish I could place it in my office. The expression and anxiety in the eyes portray the depth of the moment. The lips express silence from fear and the upward gaze signifies vulnerability as though she is looking at an adult or older person who intimidates. Bravo for the complexity expression in this work.

what a brilliant photograph!! lovely innocent look, she looks like she's wondering about what's going on there.. the lighting works very well and creates a mood which fits very well! Excellent piece of work, Chester!
