scott_j 0 Posted November 10, 2004 Start of the Birthday Regatta in January and it was dead calm. Lake Pleasent Arizona. Link to comment
earleliason 0 Posted November 10, 2004 Very nice composition. And reflections always lure me. Link to comment
javad_namazie 0 Posted November 10, 2004 i think you might have oversharpened this... there are blurred borders at the edges of objects. you might not want to do that. but otherwise a beautiful shot, perfect lighting, almost look like an oil painting Link to comment
nacphoto 0 Posted November 10, 2004 I like the digital touching up in this image. Makes it look somewhat surreal. Nice job. Link to comment
jimg 0 Posted November 10, 2004 Nice work adding such a unique look to this shot. Very ethereal. Link to comment
chetn 0 Posted November 10, 2004 Good crop and horozontal composition; hinting at movement (even though its dead calm). also I like the diffuse glow and large dynamic range. Link to comment
christine_hysell 0 Posted November 10, 2004 I agree with Chester on this image. The effects give this image a very interesting look, like it is a mirage. Link to comment
andre_bernier 0 Posted November 10, 2004 Les voiles du centre s'apparentent curieusement ࠤes tentes am鲩ndiennes. Po鴩que composition! Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted November 11, 2004 Calm indeed for a race... that is the trouble with lakes..!! but nice composition and color. This idea to present it this way is quite original and audacious (cropping half some boats!). Mountains in the back help to make it not too flat... Link to comment
wilsontsoi 0 Posted November 11, 2004 The semi-transparent, blur layer works well here. Superb composition, colors, reflection, and sense of depth. ^_^ Link to comment
scott_j 0 Posted November 11, 2004 Everyone, thank you for the kind comments. From the day I took the shot I had ideas about this one. So your comments are very much appriciated. Of course, a good dash of the ingredients is just dumb luck. Otherwise, I keep trying and learning from all your fine works and comments. Thanks -- Scott Link to comment
scott_j 0 Posted November 11, 2004 I responded to the "Post to the PN staff? rating abuse comments today and the Phantom struck with a 2/2 rating. No one is safe, except to say I appriciate the majority of comments they count. Thanks :-) Link to comment
donna lynn 0 Posted November 15, 2004 This is my favorite of your sailing pics. The cropping is perfect, it makes me feel like I'm just a few feet away. Please share your post-processing techniques :-) Link to comment
