henrimanguy 0 Posted November 9, 2004 This photo is taken on the harbour of Venice at about height in the morning. It is high tide and the water is overwhelming the wharf (just as all the San Marco area, but I will show you this later). Thank you to rate and comment. Link to comment
snapshooter 0 Posted November 9, 2004 I'd like to have seen a bit more sky above the sun, but I think it's Link to comment
paul_scott1 0 Posted November 9, 2004 Nice, but it really needs a story line and a mysterious figure about to embark, at which point it would be a classic. Unfortunate that the boat silhouette is confused, and the silhouette of the lamp is merged with that of the quay. Still, life is rarely ideal. Link to comment
photos of hans koot 0 Posted November 9, 2004 very good shot, the front of the gondola does unfortunately not clompletely stand out. Link to comment

colin carron 58,916 Posted November 12, 2004 Oh yes! a very good shot! Well done Henri. I think I might try to clean up around the front of the gondola but mevertheless - great! Link to comment
henrimanguy 0 Posted November 12, 2004 Thank you all for your kind comments. I would have prefer too that the gondola would be alone but you know, the harbour is very busy by many objects, particularly by many posts like those and I think I had a good luck that this gondola pass at this place when I was there. I took three shots of it and this one is the best, with the gondola the more in view. I have all the same cut out a third on the left part where was the front of another gondola and some posts. Colin, yes I suppose it is possible to clean up around the front of the gondola but it seems to me that it is very much work not very easy and it could be visible. Paul, I think I understand what you mean: a person with a carnival mask and dressed with XVIIIe century clothes for example. But this is too much a "venetian clich颠in my opinion. I have avoided the period of carnival for this reason. Link to comment
