peter_daalder 0 Posted November 6, 2004 Whether the weather be fine,Or whether the weather be not,Whether the weather be coldOr whether the weather be hot,We'll weather the weatherWhatever the weather,Whether we like it or not.Come on PT! It is starting to look like you got seasick from sun worship. After the rain there was a bit of high pressure and you've come up with more rain?!!My eye can't find any particular place to rest on here. Despite the intriguing patterns, I find this a little busy and lacking a clear focal point. Hope the weather improves soon, up your way... Link to comment
darrellwhittle 0 Posted November 7, 2004 Certainly a weather shot and there is plenty of detail in the raindrops thanks to the exposure but i find the same problem as Peter that there is nothing to focus on. Technically it is OK but it needs more than that to really grab the attention and hold it IMO. Cheers Darrell Link to comment
Landrum Kelly 65 Posted November 8, 2004 Hey, this is neat, but why am I getting a sense of deja vu? http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=2854698&size=lg Link to comment
tom t 0 Posted November 8, 2004 Too busy for me too, and me too I am missing sokething to lead the eye. A soaked frog or something would be nice :) I don't think the shot is technically OK - I seem to see blown out stripes - leaves perhaps? Cause by bumping the contrast, or by oversharpening perhaps? My 2 cts of course - feel free to disagree. Tom Link to comment
sallymckay-lepage 0 Posted November 8, 2004 I might liken my impression of this image and it's subsequent comments thereof to cleaning out the junk drawer; what to keep and what to throw away keeping in mind that if all designated junk is thrown away then the drawer no longer fulfills it's prupose. In other words....... it is what it is (to me at least) a lyrical depiction of falling droplets on water. No frog needed. If i were to suggest anything I might crop the image almost in half because for me the lower left section is in particular most interesting to look at with it's melodic flow playing nicely against the staccato in the upper portion. I think the less is more approach is maybe needed here. Perhaps less contrast also. A fine effort PT. Sally Link to comment
silvertip 0 Posted November 17, 2004 The more I look at this photo the better I like it. Seems to be more going on that first impression shows. How come there are more drops in the top half? Is there a overhang above? Such as a tree? Now if I could just find that soaked frog. Link to comment
livvie 0 Posted November 30, 2004 at first it looks bland but then it grows on you. still think i agree with others, that it lacks some sort of punch - the yellow welly boot splashing through, the colourful autumn leaf... but then i am reminded of an old shot of my own that others said exact same about - i liked its simplicity and maybe so do you pt ... and why not! it does have a simple charm to it.
