I love shots like this.

 

What I wonder, though, is why the ring is on the middle finger rather than the ring finger? And this is the only thing that takes my attention away from the emotional kick in the gut that this picture delivers. Who does the other hand belong to? Spouse? Kid? Doctor? The question distracts me from the picture as a whole.

 

 

This image has the strongest emotional impact I have ever experienced. It is timeless.

There are no words to describe the impact of this photograph or the feelings it has evoked in me. The best I can think of is to use a Hebrew phrase - r'fuah sch'leima: a healing of body and spirit, a complete healing.
